Xenoma ‘e-skin’ is the smart apparel technology that realizes a multi-modal sensor system covering the whole human body.
The underlying core technology of Xenoma’s apparel is Printed Circuit Fabric (PCF). PCF created by Xenoma’s unique materials and manufacturing process can have stretchable wires, sensors, and devices integrated onto traditional textiles. This enables the apparel to be stretchable, durable and provides insulation from sweat and moisture. The apparel has been demonstrated to withstand more than 100 wash cycles of ISO 6330 4N-A and more than 10,000 stretches at a 50% strain rate while remaining fully functional. This allows PCF to be equipped with multiple sensors.

e-skin MEVA
e-skin MEVA, is the world’s quickest and easiest motion capture system.
It is composed of the e-skin IMU Pants and accompanying software. It uses no cameras or markers. Complete the measuring preparations by yourself in just 30 seconds. The thin sensors and stretchable wires fit perfectly to the body. To evaluate gait kinematics and lower extremity motion dynamics, it enables high quality tracking of unhindered, natural body movement and animating the lower extremity bone model in real-time with simple operation. It does not utilize geomagnetism. e-skin MEVA can be used by anyone and anywhere in a variety of applications, e.g. sports and fitness, biomechanical research, functional movement, posture assessment and rehabilitation.

Since clothes are a part of everyone’s lives, the e-skin is one of the most ideal interfaces to monitor our activities and vital signs. Founded in November 2015 as a spin-out from the University of Tokyo and collaborating with Japanese apparel companies with decades of experience, Xenoma has its head office in Tokyo, Japan, and distributors worldwide. Our first product – the e-skin Developer’s Kit – was launched in January of 2017. Xenoma is the first company to develop Printed Circuit Fabric (PCF) using our stretchable electronics technology.
