AMH is secreted by the Sertoli cells in males. During embryonic development, AMH is responsible for Müllerian duct regression. AMH continues to be produced by the testes until puberty and then decreases slowly to residual post-puberty values. In females, AMH is produced by the granulosa cells of small growing follicles from the 36th week of gestation onwards until menopause when levels become undetectable. Potential clinical applications of low end anti-müllerian hormone (AMH) have been published in premature ovarian insufficiency, ovarian tumors, menopause and many more.

The level of AMH in a woman’s blood is generally a good indicator of her ovarian reserve. AMH does not change during menstrual cycle, so the blood sample can be taken at any time of the month – even while one is using oral contraception. To interpret the results clinicians should compare your AMH level with other women of the same age.

The prevalence of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) is rapidly increasing in the world. Fecal calprotectin is a sensitive marker of intestinal inflammation. Calprotectin is an immunomodulatory and antimicrobial protein that is primarily secreted by neutrophils. Its level is low in healthy feces, while IBD patients have elevated fecal calprotectin concentrations due to neutrophil degranulation and leakage from damaged mucosa.

PTZ Calprotectin is an easy-to-use ELISA test for the diagnosis of intestinal inflammation associated with IBD, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. The test detects fecal calprotectin, which is a stable and sensitive indicator of IBD.
