Since the first studies looking at pathological gait solutions in the 1970s, researchers and clinicians were restricted to laboratory conditions (using photogrammetric cameras, EMG, force plates,…) to study gait. Since 2000, inertial sensors offer new opportunities in the world of motion science and enable health professionals and biomechanists to measure gait for both routine assessment and impactful studies.
