Changzhou Institute of Materia Medica Co., Ltd. (founded in Nov. 2010) is the predecessor to state-owned research institute (founded in 1984). CIMM independently developed three types of implanted medical devices-medical sodium hyaluronate gel In 1991 and became the first medical sodium hyaluronic acid raw material factory in China. With well-qualified staff, a thorough quality management system, and first-class facilities, the company ensures the continuous production of medical devices and drug injection products of Class III that conform to the laws and regulations of the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) and EU MDD.

In 2011, CIMM established a modern new factory area with a total area of 28,000 ㎡in the Changzhou National High-tech Zone Life and Health Industrial Park. The GMP standard purification workshop has an area of 12,000 ㎡ and the R&D center has an area of more than 3,000 ㎡. At the same time, the company has established a perfect quality management system. In terms of scientific research, the company has stepped up its independent innovation efforts. At present, it has 18 authorized patents, of which 10 are authorized for inventions, 6 are authorized for utility models, 4 for inventions at the substantive review stage, and 3 for inventions.
On June 13, 2017, CIMM established the Changzhou Yuyu Biomass Research Institute, which is mainly engaged in gene and cell engineering, bone transplant materials, oral implant materials, wound dressing, medical beauty materials, and cosmetics. The company has set up functional units such as molecular biology laboratories, cell biology laboratories, pathology and image analysis laboratories, and animal laboratories.

In addition, the plant has introduced more production facilities such as the Inova filling machine from Germany, the sterilizer from GETINGE, the semiautomatic filling and sealing equipment from Pluemat, 5T / h purified water machine, 3T / h water for injection machine, and1T / h of the pure steam generator.
