What makes Bonbouton different is the rigorous science that backs it up.
Bonbouton founder, Dr. Linh Le, PhD, is a chemical engineer who developed a method to seamlessly embed graphene sensors into objects, like insoles. Our team discovered that graphene oxide can detect temperature changes that are accurate to 0.01 degrees Celsius.
We patented the technology and manufactured our smart insole, which continuously and unobtrusively monitors temperature changes in patients’ feet and detects early signals of foot ulcers. Graphene can detect changes in pressure as well, another indicator of inflammation that could lead to debilitating foot ulcers and amputation.
Our long-term vision is to continue developing additional wearables. For example, our EMG sensors are designed to also measure muscular contractions for athletes; this will help monitor performance, overall fitness, and be of use in physical therapy.

About Us
Company details
Bonbouton is a medical technology company that has developed a smart insole that detects foot ulcers, a common cause of diabetes-related amputations. It’s comfortable to wear, simple to use, and can help prevent the approximately 200 amputations that occur in the United States daily, which costs our healthcare system $15B per annum.
Our current focus is on the smart insole and companion app, our first remote-monitoring, preventative health tool to empower healthier lives. Our long-term vision is to use our patented sensing technology in an array of other products that promote better well-being.
