Entertainment Robotics was established in 1999, and legally founded in February 2000, as a spin-off from world leading research into modern artificial intelligence, robotics, modular robotics, and playware. Entertainment Robotics has provided its services for major companies such as LEGO, Microsoft, Bandai, Kompan, etc., and for numerous hospitals and rehabilitation centers. The core competency of Entertainment Robotics is extensive knowledge on applying modern artificial intelligence methods, combined with a deep knowledge on implementing intelligent technology that motivate people to interact. The company takes the view that products should integrate context development, educational principles, and physical components in order to create the most thrilling and intelligent entertainment. Also, the company creates unique products that can be personalized and adaptive by using the extensive competencies on adaptive systems and modern artificial intelligence (e.g. artificial neural networks, behavior-based systems, evolutionary computation). Entertainment Robotics has its headquarter in Odense, Denmark – the playful city where fairytale writer Hans Christian Andersen was born, and which promotes itself as a city with the vision “To play is to live”. Entertainment Robotics’ Southern Europe office is placed in Rome, Italy, and the African office in Iringa, Tanzania.
