A COMPANY CREATED OUT OF PASSION AND CAREGIVING EXPERIENCE

Cancer and gaming may seem worlds apart but technology exponentially creates new worlds of opportunity (real, augmented, and virtual!) as it did with the story of Oncomfort.

Oncomfort was born out of the stress of watching family suffer through cancer and being unable to reduce their pain and anxiety. Diane Jooris, CEO of Oncomfort (Co-founder) helped her father and sister as much as possible, but she felt that her clinical hypnosis expertise combined with the rise of a new technology, virtual reality, could provide a solution.

Presently, the company is already composed of a dynamic group of international and multilingual individuals that are actively engaged in in several continents including Europe, North America, South America, and Asia. Oncomfort is based in Brussels, Belgium and is actively conducting research and development in many countries.

Many villages are represented from across the world at Oncomfort. In sum, eight languages (English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German, Arabic and Dutch) are spoken by the team. In addition, over six countries are represented by the same either through birth, ethnicity or both (Belgium, United States, Italy, Lebanon, Ecuador, and U.K.). With this unique combination of perspectives, languages, and skill sets across domains and across geographies, all are collaborating together globally to bring better clinical care into healthcare through virtual reality.
