Foams
Our portfolio of foam wound care dressings includes trilaminate foam, bilaminate foam, silicone foam and silicone wound contact layer products that provide high absorption, low wound adherence and protection. We are also able to provide antimicrobial foams, and supply foam rollstock.
Providing confidence with security and protection
Our trilaminate foam wound care dressings use polyurethane foam to create the microporous hydrophilic foam structure.
The hydrophilic foam has a flexible, breathable, backing film for both adhesive and non-adhesive foam dressings, which allows vapour to pass out through the dressing whilst the foam absorbs high levels of exudate.
The wound contact layer side of the dressing has a clear perforated film which protects the wound bed from adhering to the dressing by preventing the newly formed granulation tissue adhering to the foam.
The perforations in the wound contact film allow the uptake of exudate, preventing excess fluid causing maceration to healthy skin.

Hydrogels
Essential hydration to facilitate autolytic debridement
Our amorphous hydrogel has been specifically developed with a high water content that gently donates moisture to dry necrotic wounds encouraging healing through autolytic debridement. The hydrogel is delivered through a tube onto the wound area as a primary dressing to deliver important rehydration to the wound. This product:
• provides excellent fluid donation
• aids autolytic debridement
• rehydrates dry necrotic wounds
• provides a moist wound environment
• encourages growth and migration of epithelial cells
Our hydrogel can be supplied in different configurations and sizes. We also supply silver hydrogels.
Suitable for:
Indicated for the wound management of necrotic and sloughy wounds with nil to low exudate.
Product category: Wound adhesives
Hydrocolloids
Established technologies with proven versatility
Our hydrocolloid range has been designed to provide improved absorbency, enhanced patient comfort and remain integral throughout patient wear time. The dressings provide an ideal moist wound healing environment that promotes healing.
Our hydrocolloid dressings contain a blend of synthetic polymers and hydrophilic powders which provide a self adhesive absorbent material for wound applications.
The hydrocolloid forms a gel on contact with wound exudate promoting a moist wound healing environment. Our range consists of thin and thick film-backed dressings and foam-backed variants.
Suitable for:
Light to moderate exuding acute or chronic wounds

About Us
Company details
The AMS Group of companies specialise in the design, development, manufacture and distribution of novel, high performance advanced wound care products, surgical dressings and medical grade materials as well as medical adhesives and sutures for closing and sealing tissue.
AMS Group plc was founded in 1991 in Winsford, Cheshire, U.K. It was originally set up to offer R&D, manufacturing and Sales & Marketing capabilities providing advanced wound care products for major healthcare companies. In 2002 the Group acquired Advanced Medical Solutions (Plymouth) Limited (formerly MedLogic Global Ltd) based in Plymouth, Devon. This provided the Group with technology in cyanoacrylate based medical adhesives and a direct U.K. sales force. Advanced Medical Solutions (Plymouth) Limited and Advanced Medical Solutions Limited completed an entity merger in June 2018 and both now operate under Advanced Medical Solutions Limited.
In October 2009, following a successful joint venture with Recticel, the Group acquired the Netherlands based hydrophilic polyurethane manufacturer Corpura B.V. (now known as Advanced Medical Solutions B.V.).
In 2011 the Group further expanded acquiring RESORBA Wundversorgung GmbH & Co KG (now known as RESORBA Medical GmbH), a long established wound care and wound closure business, providing suture and collagen technologies, headquartered in Germany with direct sales in Germany, the Czech Republic and Russia.
In 2019, the Group acquired Sealantis Limited, a developer of an alginate-based tissue adhesive technology platform. Sealantis is an Israeli-based medical device company with a patent-protected alga-mimetic sealants technology platform with a wide range of potential surgical indications under development. Its two most advanced surgical sealant products are Seal-G, an open surgery device already CE marked for reinforcement of the staple / suture line to minimise anastomotic leaks following gastrointestinal surgery, and Seal-G MIST (Minimally Invasive Spray Technology) the equivalent laparoscopic device for the same indication but performed through key hole surgery.
