We are experts in the development and manufacture of microfluidic products.
microLIQUID is a one-stop provider of end-to-end Bioscience solutions, spanning the whole microfluidic value chain from cartridges to equipment. Our microfluidic OEM cartridge technologies, as well as the microfluidic ODM ones, fit the demand for improving the efficiency of techniques applied in the manufacturing of microfluidic products, such as IVD devices and microfluidic chips.
Starting with potential microfluidic design, development and proof of concept, we work together with our customers on projects of potentially fully-certified microfluidic IVD development and manufacturing. This is possible as we have Bioscience, Engineering and New Product Introduction expertise all under one roof.
One of our key strengths is the ability to provide novel processing solutions where conventional microfluidics manufacturing processes are no longer valid. The challenges that we regularly address entail the inclusion of micro-sized features as well as the design and manufacturing of several types of micro mold technologies (Silicon, PDMS, SU-8 and steel), the combination of micro and macro features, combinations of process steps, challenging assembly steps, stringent QC requirements and packaging of the final product. Our manufacturing team deliver small and large volumes of products to customers around the world. microLIQUID offers full solutions for microfluidic design and manufacturing of macro-, micro-, nano-structured and multi-layer polymer devices, in some cases also with silicon and glass material in hybrid solutions for the market. microLIQUID provides microfluidic cartridge development for customers´ proprietary platforms, whilst also offering a full solution from microfluidics through precision flow control equipment.
Since the creation of our company 10 years ago, we have built up experience working on thousands of Research and Development projects, as well as large-scale ones with international vocation. Being able to communicate in English, French and Spanish, microLIQUID has developed a unique combination of skills including microfluidic design, nano- and microfabrication, polymer sciences and automated assembly, all of which have been implemented in our microfluidics mass-production facilities.

MICROFLUIDIC-IMMUNOASSAY
The high sensitivity and specificity of immunoassays make them a powerful tool in molecular diagnostics. microLIQUID, has proven that microfluidics is making a change in the field of diagnostics.
The current immunoassay ‘gold standard’ ELISA, while proven to be highly robust and reliable, suffers from large sample requirements, long diffusion times, and hence, long incubation times moreover, it requires a specific enzyme-fluorophore complex that does not interfere with the reaction.
In recent years, microLIQUID has focused on combining the classic ELISA approach with microfluidic technologies. Such devices enable quantitative immunoassay results by integrating sensitive optical or electrochemical detection methods. The main advantages of a microfluidic immunoassay compared to conventional approaches are:
Increase throughout and reproducibility, with automatic microfluidic immunoassay system.
Lower consumption of samples and reagents.
Speed up the antibody-antigen binding reactions.
Summarizing, the combination of microfluidics and immunoassay technologies can detect biomarkers with faster assay time, reduced volumes of reagents, lower power requirements, and higher levels of integration and automation compared to traditional approaches.

MOLECULAR DIAGNOSTICS
Molecular diagnostics have improved the diagnosis and treatment of millions of patients worldwide, allowing clinicians to diagnose patients earlier and provide better ongoing therapies.
At microLIQUID, we develop fully automated sample preparation and molecular diagnostic systems based on microfluidics.
Non-microfluidic diagnostic instruments usually require large quantities of costly reagents, long analysis time, established lab infrastructure, and trained professionals to operate. This limits their practicality for large-scale screening applications in developed countries, and for primary care in developing countries. There is a strong demand for robust, cost-effective and simple-to-operate molecular diagnostic instruments.
Microfluidic systems have many advantages, such as short analysis time, reduction in production costs, and low sample/reagent consumption.
However, there are also important differences among microfluidic devices. Most current microfluidic diagnostic devices are designed to target a single disease, such as a given cancer or a particular strain of a pathogen. The future of molecular diagnostics lies in highly multiplexed microfluidic devices that can screen for potentially hundreds of diseases simultaneously.
